SQUIGGLING TO THE FINISH LINE — Worms were raced at the Tiltonsville Branch of the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County as part of the children’s events for the Oceans of Possibilities Summer Reading Program continuing through July 31. -- Contributed

STEUBENVILLE — The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has announced a variety of activities and programs happening at its various locations. They include:

Children: Visit the library Monday through July 30 and walk through a life-sized ocean room. The first 30 children will get an ocean book and candy.

There’s a scavenger hunt at the library Monday through July 23. Stop in anytime.

Take the family to watch a movie on July 23 at 2 p.m. When it’s finished, browse the shelves and take home some books.

Children: It’s shark week at this library. Learn how sharks swim and make a craft on July 21 at 3 p.m. Registration is required.

Teens: Stop in for paper bead-making on Monday at 2 p.m.

Adults: Make a sugar scrub on Monday at 5 p.m. Registration is required.

Children: Make a “silly sea urchin” craft on July 21 at 6 p.m.

Teens: Visit to make a no-sew fabric octopus on Monday at 6 p.m. Register in advance.

Children: It’s shark week! Learn how sharks swim and make a craft on Tuesday at 3 p.m. Registration is required.

Share books, rhymes and songs with your baby at Babygarten on July 21 at 11:30 a.m. Babygarten is for caregiver and baby from birth to age 2.

Adults: Book club will meet for discussion on Tuesday at 10 a.m.

Children: Make ocean-themed crafts at “Messy Under the Sea” art on July 21 at 1 p.m., which is for children ages 5-10. Registration is required.

Children from birth to age 4 will play with toys that promote alphabet knowledge while caregivers will meet other parents of young children during Play and Learn on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.

Teens: Make a jellyfish in a bottle on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Adults: Lisa Mort of Empowered Yoga will show participants how to relax the body by using Breathwork on July 23 at 11 a.m. Registration is required and bring a yoga mat.

Children: Make a “silly sea urchin” craft on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Children: Stay cool while watching a movie at the library. Find out what is playing on July 23 at 2:30 p.m. Registration is required.

“Messy Under the Sea” art is for children (ages 5-10) on July 20 at 11 a.m.

Teens: Get creative at the teens “Messy Under the Sea” art on July 21 at 11 a.m.

Adults: “Messy Mosaic Under the Sea” art will be on July 21 at 1:30 p.m.
