(Seguin) — It’s homecoming for the Seguin Matadors tonight as they host the Lehman Lobos at Matador Stadium. The Mats will be in the gold jerseys for tonight’s game which you’ll hear on AM 1580 KWED. Kickoff is set for 7:30 this evening.
It’s homecoming in Marion too as the Bulldogs play host to the Karnes City Badgers. Both teams come into tonight’s game sporting 2-1 records. The Bulldogs fell for the first time last Friday on the road at Gonzales. Tonight’s game kicks of at 7 pm. Marion will look to rebound tonight and Marion head coach Ryne Miller is telling his players to enjoy the moment.
“Homecoming’s always a fun week in Marion. You have a pep rally, a parade throughout the city. We get all kinds of parents and community members who come out. It’s always fun. I always tell the kids enjoy the week. Enjoy the pep rallies, the parades, the dress up days every day of the week. Just enjoy the process and just know the end goal is Friday night. We gotta get a football win. It’s building up to the football game and the volleyball game. Our kids have had a great week so far and they’re excited.”
The Navarro Panthers picked up their first win of the season in a come from behind victory over Smithville last week at home. The Panthers are back on the road this week to take on La Vernia. Kick off is set for 7:30. Navarro head coach Rod Blount says his team continues to grind each week.
“We need to get healthy. That’s the main thing. Guys are taking big strides this week in practice. We’ve looked even better, but we’re continuing to grind it out every day and trying to get better. The guys have had a great attitude and they’re working hard so I don’t think we’re that far off.”
