I found the perfect solution to the neverending DUPLO mess for just $18 at Kmart | Kidspot

Looking for another reason to go to Kmart but also solve a daily mess in your home? Read on.

Mums - they're such a clever bunch. If there's a faster and simpler way to do the many, many things they need to do each day, they'll find it.

But especially, when they are almost driven to the point of insanity by constantly cleaning up everyone's crap.

This is why one mum has  created a genius small-space solution for DUPLO storage, and has shared it in a Facebook group, because she knows it takes a village.

Mum Amy shared her hack in the Kmart Australia Facebook group, with a photo of the cutest DUPLO storage/play table she made with an $18 item from Kmart.

"I've finally found a solution to the DUPLO mess," she wrote.

"This drawer perfectly fits the DUPLO base and has heaps of room for the pieces. I cut a piece of MDF to go under the green base just to give it some more strength."

Amy confirmed that her two-year-old didn't break it when he... inevitably stood on it.

"I stuck it all down with heavy duty double-sided tape from Bunnings," she added.

The group responded with praise to the clever hack.

"I could do the same with a Lego mat on top!" one said.

"Love this idea for maybe trying to keep the different sets separated. Plus I love another excuse to go back to Kmart lol," another added.

"I'm so tempted to do this for the boys in my room," a third gushed.

Those with older kids playing with grown-up LEGO will know the pain of stepping on a piece, barefoot.

So too does Matty Benedetto, who hosts the YouTube channel Unnecessary Inventions. So, he created LEGO Socks - that allow you to walk across the MOFO bricks completely pain-free because of the LEGO board on the soles. And now, Matty has created a specially designed vacuum cleaner attachment that will not only collect the LEGO from the floor, but it will also sort it, too.

Hurrah! You can watch it in action in the video above.

Viewers were impressed; but lamented that the invention was still only a prototype.

"I'm sure there are tons of people who would love this. From parents/caregivers who want to quickly pick up the kids' LEGO, to adults who want their LEGO quickly sorted so they can get started on their new masterpiece of complexity," one wrote.

Another added, "LEGO should contact him to make this an actual sellable product."
